Additionally, he played a pivotal role in a three-year project focused on acquiring 400,000 acres in the Texas Panhandle and several other resource-rich regions, including Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama and upstate New York. Furthermore, he adeptly handled and supervised a spectrum of challenges, including claims, regulatory matters and litigation arising from each of these resource plays. Mr. McCarn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business, with a particular emphasis on management. His collegiate journey was distinguished by a continuous pursuit of academic excellence, as evidenced by the numerous honors he received. During his time at the university, he actively engaged in various community initiatives, underscoring his profound commitment to societal involvement. Subsequent to completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. McCarn pursued legal studies at St. Mary's University School of Law, culminating in the attainment of his J.D. cum laude in 2006. His scholastic prowess consistently merited his inclusion on the dean's list, attesting to his unwavering dedication to legal studies.     As an Amarillo native, Patrick Weir enjoys practicing law in the Texas Panhandle. Patrick focuses his practice in the areas of Oil, Gas & Mineral Law, along with real estate transactions and general business or corporate transactions. In 2012, Patrick earned the qualification of Board Certification in Oil, Gas & Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, becoming the youngest with that qualification in Amarillo at the time. As a Board Certified Oil, Gas & Mineral Law attorney, he is committed to the continued development of energy production in the Texas Panhandle. Patrick’s Oil, Gas & Mineral Law practice includes the representation of clients involved in acquisition, development and exploration of oil and gas properties, the drafting of oil and gas contracts and leases, the preparation of drilling and division order title opinions, and the resolution of disputes involving title or lease issues, surface damages, sub-surface easements and royalty issues. His transactional practice involves advising new businesses on entity selection, resolving disputes between business owners, and assisting clients with the purchase or sale of a business, including drafting buy-sell and merger agreements. In addition, Patrick assists in drafting residential, commercial, and governmental leases, and resolving real property disputes. Patrick serves as General Counsel for an industrial gas company that is currently expanding and acquiring assets in order to vertically integrate into all phases of that gas development process including exploration and production, midstream, processing and distribution. As General Counsel, he assists and advises the company in various matters including intellectual property, corporate governance, financing and securities, and negotiations of gas purchase contracts. Patrick actively participates as a Director of the Amarillo Area Bar Association and is also actively involved in various other industry organizations including Panhandle Producers and Royalty Owners Association, Panhandle Association of Petroleum Landmen, Tulsa Association of Petroleum Landmen, and Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen. Patrick and his wife, Mackenzie, are proud graduates of Texas A&M University. They have been blessed with two wonderful children. In addition to spending quality time with his children, Patrick enjoys golfing, skiing, coaching little league baseball and following his favorite sports teams.     Matt Sherwood is a trial lawyer who has tried over 30 cases in state and federal courts and has handled nearly 20 matters on appeal. Matt is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. When he obtained his certification in Civil Trial Law in 2017, he was the youngest attorney in the state of Texas to hold both Board Certifications. Matt first attended Brown University, where he played football, and then finished his undergraduate education at Texas Tech University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 2005. Matt and his wife, Robin, have two children, Olivia and William. In his free time, Matt coaches his son’s basketball team (the Amarillo Golden Goats), playing too many sports (golf, tennis, pickleball, basketball, and hockey, among others), cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, and reading. Matt serves on the Board of Directors of Kids, Inc., and the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce Business Council. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Maverick Boys and Girls Club, and Amarillo Habitat for Humanity.
